Getaway Car

5am and the heat of the night has left the bedroom hot and stifling, the fan above us is doing nothing but push the hot air around and I can't get back to sleep. I toss and turn, trying to find a cool spot on the bed but there is none, I'm sweaty and uncomfortable. I look over at Angus who is sleeping soundly and I can't help but feel a little jealous that he's able to sleep through the thick heat. I can't lay here any longer, I have to find a solution. I decide to take a dip in the pool, that will cool me down. I find my swim suit in my overnight bag and change in the bathroom, grabbing a towel from the linen cupboard and I make my way out to swimming pool. I've never actually swam in the pool at the penthouse, it always seemed too cold to in Winter but now with the weather warming up as we come into Summer I was planing to swim here more often. 
The water is refreshingly cool against my skin as I climb down the ladder, fully submerging myself. I wade around in the deep end, diving under the water occasionally. This was a great idea because I no longer feel hot and sticky, I feel so much better.
"There you are Princess" Angus says, startling me, "I woke up and you were gone" 
"It was too hot in the bedroom and I couldn't sleep" I tell him, swimming over to the edge of the pool where he is.
"You should have woken me, I would of put the air conditioner on baby" He tells me as he takes his briefs off and climbs into the water with me, I wrap my legs around his waist and he kisses me soft and slow, cradling my face in his hands.
"You're naked" I whisper to him 
"You're very observant Miss Green" He laughs, pulling me tighter, I know his plan.
"Imogen might see us" I fret, pulling away and swimming to the other side of the pool.
"Come back" He begs me but I ignore his request, instead I climb out of the pool and grab my towel, he watches me closely, looking hurt that I rejected him.
"Are you coming to shower with me before you go to work or do I just go alone" I call to him as I walk off to the bathroom, behind me I hear him scramble out of the pool so fast and he comes running up beside me, dripping water through the lounge room. I hand him my now wet towel and he wraps it around his naked lower half. I strip off my swim suit once we are in the bathroom, placing it in the sink and turn on the shower, stepping under the falling water, Angus   climbs in behind me and begins his exploration of my body.
"How do you wanna do this Zoey?' He asks me.
"Against the wall, from behind, hard and fast please" I request and he obliges, not failing to disappoint. 
"Best way to start the day" He tells me after we are done and I agree, very satisfying.

"What are your plans for the day my little lady of leisure?" Angus asks me as he's getting ready for work.
"I was thinking, if it's ok with you, that I might have coffee with Tess this morning" I reply, I feel like I need to get the facts about what really happened on Saturday night.
"Why would it not be ok with me?" He laughs
"Well she is painting for you" I explain
"I'm not her boss though, she can come and go as she pleases. There's a new cafe just up from the gym, best coffee I've ever had, you two should go there" He suggests
"What time are you having lunch today?" I ask him, I'm thinking I could time my visit with Tess to coincide after his lunch.
"Around 11 I think, I have a class at 7 and then training a client at 10." He informs me
"I'll make you lunch and we can eat together" I offer 
"You really are the sweetest girl Zoey" He says, kissing me softly,"I want you to take my card and do something special for yourself today, you deserve it" He insists
"I couldn't do that Angus, I wouldn't feel right" I protest and he laughs, placing his card in my handbag.
"I'll see you at 11 gorgeous girl, I love you" He says as he leaves in a hurry.

I wandered around the fashion district in the city for almost two hours, looking in every shop, trying on dresses and swimwear, shoes and hats. I buy a beautiful blue, off the shoulder knee length dress, it was on sale at 50% off. I visit the markets and buy fresh cucumber, lettuce, tomato and chicken, I take it all back to the apartment and prepare Angus and myself a chicken salad for lunch, pack the salad into an airtight container and make my way over to the gym. 
The heat from the sun blazing down on me, causing sweat beads to form on my bare shoulders. I'm cursing myself for not applying sunscreen before I left because even though the walk is short I can feel my skin is burning and there's not much shade on offer. I'm surprised to see through the windows that the gym is packed today, I thought the heat would make people less likely to want to workout. I walk inside and the cool air hits me instantly, now I understand it.

"Hey Zoey" Annabelle greets me from the desk, "Here to see the sister or the boyfriend?" She asks me.
"Hey Annabelle, both actually, I'm having lunch with Angus and then hoping to catch up with Tess after" I tell.
"Angus is just finishing up with Summer" Annabelle informs me, pointing across the gym where Angus is doing cool down stretches with a busty, blonde young woman, she's telling him a funny story and feels the need to touch him often, Angus is laughing with her but steps back a bit after the second touch, she then takes a step forward and touches his forearm, giving it a squeeze.
"You may need to go save him" Annabelle suggests and I laugh as I make my way over to him. Busty blonde eyes me in disgust, I'm interrupting her flirt fest when she thinks she's about to close the deal. Angus jumps back from her when he sees me, his face looks panicked. 
"Hey baby" I greet him, kissing him passionately 
"My Princess" He replies, "Summer, this is my beautiful girlfriend Zoey" He introduces me to the blonde and she steps back from Angus.
"Oh, hi" She says coldly and I smile brightly at her before turning my attention back to Angus.
"I made us chicken salad, do you want to eat in your office or upstairs?" I ask him, ignoring Summer.
"Upstairs, my office is way too hot today" He replies, "I'll see you again on Wednesday Summer, take care" He brushes her off and we walk together hand in hand upstairs.
"Thank you for getting me away from her, I hate when they touch me" He says annoyed when we are sitting at a table in the cafe. I open the container and hand him a fork.
"It's all good, I trust you, I could see you were stepping back from her" I assure him.
"If she wasn't a client I'd tell her to fuck off." He exclaims and I giggle
"You're so pretty, I can't say I blame her for trying" I tease him, squeezing his cheek and he smiles brightly at me.
"Did you treat yourself baby?" He asks, changing the subject. I remember I have his card in my handbag, I dig it out and hand it back to him.
"I bought a new dress and I plan on wearing it Wednesday night" I tell him
"What's Wednesday night?"He questions me, confused
"I'm taking you on a date on Wednesday night, it won't be anywhere fancy but it will be my treat" I explain to him and he smiles at me
"I can't wait Princess, I don't mind where we go to as long as I'm with you" He enthuses 
"I'll even give you a surprise" I tease him and his eyes go wide with delight.
"And now I'll be thinking about you in lingerie all day" He says, flashing me that cheeky smile and I blush a little, he leans in and kisses me. 
"Like you weren't already" I tell him confidently.
"This is true baby, you're all I think about all day" He confirms and I feel so special.
"Right back at you baby, I'm so happy school is over and I can spend more time with you" I tell him, slipping my hand under his t-shirt so I can feel every crafted groove of his torso.
"Stay over again tonight" He begs me, placing his hand on my thigh.
"You just want to have shenanigans, I know you Angus Mckenzie" I laugh at him, he pulls his hand back from my thigh and holds it up in front of him as if he's surrendering.
"I'll be a good boy, I won't try anything, I just want to be around you" He promises, "We can watch a movie, get a drink, have deep and meaningful conversations and I won't make any moves"
"I was going to stay anyway but now I'm just going to have fun tempting you until you cave" I tease him laughing, he just looks at me and smiles
"Don't underestimate my will power baby" He laughs, raising his eyebrows at me
"I'm sure your will power will be super strong when I'm lying naked in your bed, running my hands all over your body" I say, placing the image in his head.
"Bring it on Zoey" He says confidently. I forgot how much Angus loves a challenge.

After lunch I make my way back downstairs to the gym, walking to the back where Tess is painting the giant mural on the wall.
"Hey Teresa" I greet her and she spins around from the wall so fast.
"Zoey!!!" She screams with joy, "I didn't think I'd see you until this afternoon when we have training, I've missed you so much"
"Do you wanna go get coffee and catch up?" I ask her and she nods.
We walk up the road to that new cafe Angus suggested, we order 2 mochas.
"So Saturday night was hectic" Tess states as we grab our coffees and find a table.
"Yeah, Angus wasn't expecting to see Brian at The Stargazer and it threw him." I tell her.
"Steph said he went off" Tess tells me as if I wasn't there.
"Angus walked in on Brian and Steph having sex" I defend Angus to Tess, "He has the right to not like the guy"
"Can you blame her, Brian is fucking hot" Tess laughs and I look at her in disgust.
"Teresa what Brian and Steph did hurt Angus a lot and it's taken him a long time to be able to trust anyone again" I tell her firmly and the smile drops from her face.
"I know Zoey, I'm sorry, I'm not condoning what Steph and Brian did but it was a long time ago and Brian feels really shitty about it" Tess apologises to me.
"So when you went home with Brian on Saturday night he confessed to you how bad he felt about fucking his best friend's girlfriend? Did he play the 'poor me' role to get you into bed? You end things with Declan Friday and are sleeping with a new guy Saturday night" I ask her angrily 
"It's not like that Zoey" She says in a small voice
"Well what's it like then because the Tess I know would never of rebounded with the bad guy" I yell at her, I can feel everyone in the cafe is now looking at me but I don't care, I'm so angry at Tess, that she would defend Brian to me.
"I'm not rebounding Zoey, I have actual feelings for Brian and I have had them for a while now" Tess confesses and I look at her confused
"You only just met him on Saturday" I point out
"I've known Brian for a while now, I met him through Steph one night at The Stargazer when You and Angus were broken up and neither one of you would come out because you both didn't want to run into each other. I wanted to hate him too but he's actually not a bad guy, he's really sweet and we have heaps in common, he was school captain too and studied Graphic Art at uni, which I'm considering studying and the sex was unbelievable" She opens up and I'm floored
"You cheated on Declan? With Brian? Well I guess he only goes after girls with boyfriends." I exclaim in disgust, it only makes me hate him more.
"Actually nothing happened between us until Saturday night, in fact he had no idea I was into him until I made a move on Saturday, he did nothing wrong by me Zoey and I didn't cheat on Declan so you can stop the judgemental bitch act" She spits out at me with such venom and I feel pangs of guilt.
"I'm sorry Tess, I shouldn't of judged you when I didn't know the full story" I apologise, "I just wish you could have told me, I understand why you didn't but I want you to know that from now on you come to me no matter what" I hold out my hand and she places hers in it.
"I'm not rebounding Zoey, I know it looks that way but I'm not" She reaffirms to me and I believe her, "He asked me on a date for tonight, I told him we have gym this afternoon with Angus and he knows he can't meet me in there"
"Angus knows you went home with him, that's how I found out. Angus has no problem if you date Brian" I assure her
"Angus is like family, I'm not going to rub this in his face and hurt him but I am going to date Brian and there may be times when they will have to be in the same room. I'll try and avoid it but you're my sister and I want to be able to spend time with you and Brian too" Tess explains and I feel exactly the same, I don't want to miss out on seeing my sister because our boys can't get along.
"I'll talk to Angus tonight. We are going out on Wednesday night, maybe you and Brian should join us?" I suggest, I know this won't go down too well with Angus though. 

Tess, Cassie and I complete our normal training session and decide to skip boxercising today, instead we spend the time getting Tess ready for her first date with Brian.
"I'll explain tonight" I tell Angus as we run off to the showers, leaving him to run the class without us.
After our showers we straighten Tess' hair and she applies a little make up. She wearing a silky light pink jumpsuit with flat shoes, she looks casually cool.
"Where's he taking you?" Cassie ask Tess.
"We are going bowling, hence why I opted not to wear a dress" Tess tells us, I'm excited for her, those fun first date feelings with a guy you're really into.
When we leave the showers the boxercising class has finished and Angus is at the desk chatting to Annabelle.
"There you three are, I thought you may have left" He says to us, pulling me in close to his sweaty body.
"No, we had to shower and help Tess get ready for her date tonight. She going bowling" I tell him cautiously.
"A date hey? With Declan? Is that why he skipped training?" Angus laughs and I look at him hoping he can read my mind so I don't have to say it out loud, "Oh, not Declan. Well tell the piece of shit that if he hurts my little sister then I will punch him in the face" 
"Have a good time Tess" Annabelle says, trying to once again be the peacemaker.
"Thanks Annabelle" Tess says, ignoring Angus. I hug her tightly goodbye and wish her luck. I look outside and see Brian is waiting for Tess, looking nervous as he paces back and forth.
"I thought you said he wasn't going to meet you here" I whisper in Tess' ear.
"I told him not to come inside" She explains as she walks out to greet him. We all watch from the desk as Brian wraps his arms around Tess and kisses her passionately. They walk off hand in hand.
"Are you sure she couldn't work things out with Declan? I liked Declan, he was a good kid, we'd go to Llamas games together and he wasn't a dick" Angus pouts
"Maybe you should date Declan" I joke, hoping to get a smile out of him but having no success. I wave goodbye to Cassie and Annabelle, take Angus by the hand and lead him out into the thick, hot air.

We get back to the apartment to find that it's empty, Imogen is most likely out with Justin. 
"I'm gonna shower and then we will order dinner" Angus tell me, walking upstairs to his bathroom.
"I could join you?" I offer, running up the stairs after him.
"You say join but all I hear is tempt" He laughs as he reaches the bathroom, removes his t-shirt and throws it at me, it's damp from sweat but still smells good.
"You said your will power was strong, lets see how strong it is when I'm naked with you in the shower" I tease him, slipping off my own t-shirt and unclasping my bra, I slide up and stand in front of him, pressing my bare chest against him and kissing him deeply, he spanks my bottom and I laugh, I'm going to wear him down. I push his shorts down to his ankles.
"I knew you'd cave in" I laugh, removing his briefs. 
"I haven't caved Zoey, I can't shower in my clothes" He says, holding me closely with one arm and turning the shower on with his free hand, "If you're coming in you may want to take your shorts off beautiful"
I strip off the rest of my clothing and climb in beside him, he grabs the loofa and squirts the strawberry body wash onto it and then hands it to me, puts his hands behind his head and flexes his sculpted body, I run the loofa over his skin with great care, taking my time to feel every part of him. I look at his face, he's loving my exploration.
"You right there? Captain Zoey" He asks as I move down to his thighs, brushing my hand past his penis.

"Fine, I'll stop tempting you" I promise. 
He orders us dinner and I pick out a romantic movie from Imogen's collection, we settle in for the night, he pours me a glass of white wine and we snuggle together on the couch.
"I love nights like these with you" Angus whispers to me
"Me too baby, I like going out too but when I don't have to get all dressed up and I can lay on your lounge in my sleepwear and watch movies with you I'm so much more relaxed." I tell him sweetly
"I'm so grateful you came back to me Princess" He says, kissing me softly as he runs his fingers through my hair.
"Imagine if I didn't do work experience at the vets? I would never of met Steph who talked me into coming to The Stargazer" I remind him
"I'd be a bitter, lonely man and you'd be most likely out tonight with someone like Charlie" He tells me and I cringe at the thought of Charlie
"Nope, I'd be sitting at home thinking about you and looking out the window at the lighthouse" I reassure him, "I love you Angus, I don't want there to ever be anyone else"
"I love you too Zo, my Princess" He replies, smiling sweetly at me.
"We need to talk about Tess and Brian, I know you don't want to but I'm afraid that there's a strong possibility that they will be together, she's pretty into him but she doesn't want to hurt you" I approach the subject of Brian with caution because I know it's a sensitive matter
"I'm cool if she dates the guy as long as I don't have to be in the same room as him" Angus groans
"Well that's going to be a bit hard, she's my sister, you're my boyfriend, there's a high chance we are going to cross paths with him"I reason with him.
"Of all the guys she could be with she picks the one fuckwitt that I can't stand" He shouts 
"You used to be best friends with that fuckwitt, I'm sure you can make polite conversation with him over dinner" I tell him, climbing on top of him and straddling him, I remove my nightdress and begin kissing his neck.
"You two have planned something and you're trying to distract me with your boobs" He accuses me.

Sad Beautiful Tragic

"Before we go shopping today I want to make a stop at Forgotten Hollow, there's some people I want you to met" Angus tells me as we are leaving the apartment. I feel all my insecurities and social anxieties come bubbling up inside me.
"I'm not good at meeting new people" I fret to Angus.
"You'll be good with these people Zoey, they will love you as much as I do, it's the first time I've introduced them to a girlfriend too so it's kind of a big thing for me" He tells me.
Angus drives out of the city to Forgotten Hollow, pulling up out the front of the cemetery, I look at him confused but he doesn't say a word, he just gets out of the car and walks around to open my door, I climb out of the car and he takes my hand. 
The cemetery is quiet, there's only us and another man visiting the graves. Angus leads us down the back of cemetery and stops in front of two graves, I read the names on the headstones and it becomes clear to me who I am meeting today, I let go of his hand and wrap my arms around him.
"Hey Mum and Dad, I want you to meet Zoey, the girl I've been telling you about, she's the sweetest girl I've ever met, she's become such a big part of my life, she calms me down when I get worked up and she always knows how to make me smile. You would love her too, she's like a beautiful ray of sunshine." Angus tells his parents as he sits down at the foot of the graves, knees pulled to his chest, arms wrapped around his legs. I sit myself on the grass beside him and put my arms around his waist.
"Hi Mr and Mrs McKenzie, it's an honour to meet you, you should be so proud of your son, he's become such an outstanding man and he treats me like a princess too. I love him more and more everyday. I know you are watching over him, Imogen too and I promise to take care of him for you" I vow to them, tears welling in my eyes.
"My Mum use to grow strawberries in our backyard when we lived in Newcrest, she would go out every morning to the garden and pick them from the vine and we would share them together for breakfast" Angus tells me, that's why he loves strawberries, they remind him of his mother.
"Tell me about your Dad, what special memory you have of him" I ask him, holding him tightly 
"My Dad would take me to every Llamas game of the season, we would sit in the cheap seats together, he would drink a beer and he would buy me sugary snacks and we had the best days, even when the Llamas lost he would still make me feel like we had won, He was the best Dad and my Mum was such a sweet, beautiful soul and I miss them everyday Zoey" He breakdown in tears.
"Thank you for introducing me to your parents Angus, it means a lot to me that you did, they would be really proud of you baby" I say and he gives me a small smile.
"They would love you  Zoey. They would see in you what Imogen and I see, that you are the woman I am going to spend the rest of my life with" He tells me, leaning in and kissing me softly.
"I'm going to go for a walk so you talk to your parents privately, I'm sure there's more you need to catch them up on." I tell him, hugging him tightly before I stand up
"Thank you Princess" He says to me. 
I take a stroll through the graves, looking at the names and dates that they were born and when they died, it makes me saddest when I come across ones with short dates and the ones with sweet messages on tombstones. Angus comes and finds me 20 minutes later.
"Ready to go shopping Princess?" He asks me, I can see his eyes are red from crying but he feels better after talking to his parents
"Yes baby, do you want me to drive?" I offer, not because I want to but because I feel he needs me to, he hands me his keys and we walk hand in hand to his car. I don't want to ask him about his talk with his parents, if he wants to bring it up on his own he can but I won't push him.

I drive us to the Magnolia Promenade, pulling in to the furniture precinct. We look at the bedding place first because Angus believes it's the most important piece of furniture we will ever own. We lie on soft beds, hard beds, ones with different levels of firmness for each side.
"Do you like it hard or soft baby" Angus asks me, flashing that cheeky smile.
"I like it firm" I tell him and he sets out to find me the best firm mattress.
"Zo, come lay on this one" Angus calls out to me from across the store. I stretch myself out on the mattress he has found, it's firm but not too firm, it feels perfect, Angus lays down next to me, "What do you think Zoey?" He asks me
"Yep, this is the one for us" I confirm.
"Can I help you?" A snotty sales person asks us rudely.
"We are thinking we may take two of these mattresses and two timber bed frames" Angus tells her and she stares at us like we are germs she needs to clean away.
"The cheaper bedding is down the front, it may be more suited to your price range children" She says as if we are wasting her time.
"Pretty sure I said I'd take two of these and two timber bed frames." Angus tells her firmly
"Do you even realise how much these are?" Sales lady questions him, I look at the price tag behind me and am glad I'm laying down, it's more than what I'd make at The Cupcake Factory in a decade and he wants to buy two of them.
"Can I see your manager?" Angus asks snotty lady and she runs away but returns with a tall, older man who I assume is the manager, snotty lady smirking like she's won and he will kick us out of the store.
"What seems to be the problem sir" The manager asks Angus
"I want to buy two of these mattresses and two timber bed frames, I've asked your sales assistant here repeatedly and she insists on insulting me by implying I can not afford what I want. Does your employee often talk potential customers out of sales and insult them?" Angus asks, to his credit he is staying calm 
"I'll put the sale through for you sir" The manager tells us, giving his employee a look of disgust
"Thank you, it's nice to see someone has good customer service skill in this place" Angus says, paying for our order and we watch the snotty sales lady's face drop, she knows she's in trouble with her manager, that's what she gets for being rude.
"Your order will be ready in about 3 weeks, I hope that's ok sir" The manager says as he hands Angus the receipt 
"Awesome, thank you" Angus says, shaking his hand before adding, "You may need to retrain your staff member so she doesn't talk down to more of your customers"

We visited 5 more stores that day and placed orders for two lounges, bookcases and a dinning table with chairs.
"I have some money saved up from working, it's not a lot but I'd like buy some towels and bedding" I tell Angus as we are driving home.
"Save your money Princess, I've got it covered" He assures me
"Please" I beg him and he looks at me with the big, beautiful smile.
"Ok, you can get towels and bedding" He tells me, placing his hand on my leg as he drives us back into the city. We arrive back there mid afternoon, tired from a day of shopping. Imogen is in their lounge room, watching a movie alone, she jumps up when she sees us come up the stairs.
"I've been waiting for you, I have some big news to share" She tells us, throwing her arms around Angus and then me.
"We have news too" Angus says smiling
"You go first Gus" Imogen says as we take a seat on the lounge next to her
"I bought the house in Brindlton Bay" He tells her and she kisses him on the cheek
"That's awesome news, I'm so proud of you Gus, Mum and Dad would be too" She praises him, big smile on her face
"We move in in 4 weeks" Gus tells her
"I thought you said 6" I ask him
"I thought it would be 6 too but they wanted 4 so I agreed to it and forgot to tell you, sorry Princess" He apologises, kissing my hand, "What's your news big sis" He asks Imogen.
"Well it came as a bit of a surprise, so much so that I was in denial for about 2 weeks but I had it confirmed officially yesterday, Justin and I are pregnant" She announces to us and Angus wraps his arms around his sister.
"That's awesome news, I'm going to be an uncle" He cheers
"Uncle Gus" Imogen confirms
"Uncle Angus" He corrects her, "Calling me Gus stops at you, I don't want it being passed down to your children" He laughs
"And Aunty Zoey" Imogen says warmly to me, I feel like I'm really part of their little family
"Congratulations Imogen" I tell her, standing up to hug her.
"Thank you Zoey and who knows, maybe he or she might be blessed with a cousin around the same age" She jokes, knowing it will stir Angus up.
"Justin has siblings who have kids, yours already have plenty of cousins to play with" Angus tells her firmly
"Oh Gus you never know" She laughs and he looks at me with that worried expression, I place my hand on his shoulder to reassure him that that's a long way off.
"We saw Brian last night" He tells Imogen, in an attempt to change the subject
"Now there's a name I haven't heard for many years, How is he?" Imogen asks and I'm actually surprised that she doesn't show more anger towards Brian 
"I didn't talk to the piece of shit" Angus scoffs 
"You should, you two were best friends, it's a shame you can't get passed what happened and work it out. His family was a big help to me after Mum and Dad died, I'm sure Brian misses you too" She attempts to reason with him
"He slept with my girlfriend" Angus exclaims
"She treated you like shit Gus, if anything he did you a favour" She states
"I could never trust him again, not around Zoey" Angus shouts
"You can trust Zoey though" Imogen points out and I watch as he starts to soften
"I can trust you Zo, I know that, I know you wouldn't cheat on me" He tells me and I kiss his cheek
"I wouldn't do anything to lose you, it would hurt me too much" I confirm to Angus
"So I think you can build that bridge with Brian" Imogen tells him
"You're so pushy" Angus laughs, "I think he has a thing for Tess, he was chatting her up at The Stargazer last night"
"Well thats good, you two can double date" Imogen suggests and Angus screws his nose up at the thought of having to be around Brian for a night.
"Tess has just broken up with Declan, I doubt she's looking for her next victim yet" I reassure him.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that Zoey" Angus says smiling as if he knows something I don't.
"Why's that?" I question him
"I received a text from Annabelle this morning, apparently your sister went home with Brian last night" He laughs and I'm floored, I know Tess, she wouldn't just go home with a guy but then again, she had a boyfriend for 4 years.
"Im sure he just drove her back to my place" I defend my sister in her absence
"Maybe Annabelle got it wrong" Angus says. 
Tess would of texted me if she had gone home with Brian, I'm sure of it.

You need to Calm Down

The Cupcake Factory is busy with orders for early Christmas parties, on top of our usual orders for weddings and birthday parties plus single sales. My manager, Isabella, said it's only going to get worse up until New Years. 
"Everyone wants cupcakes" She laughs. By the end of the day we only have a select few left. Isabella was about to lock up when there was a tap on the door.
"We've got a hottie" She tells me, opening the door to let our last customer in, I look up from the display case I was cleaning and see that it's Angus.
"Hey gorgeous" He greets me, "You look so cute in your uniform" He flirts and I laugh.
"What can I get you sir?" I ask him in my most professional voice, fully aware that Isabella is watching us.
"What do you recommend pretty girl" Angus asks, leaning on the counter to get closer to me.
"Well we haven't got much left today but we do have some red velvets, they're always a winner, also there's some chocolate mint and one salted caramel, those were popular today" I tell him pointing to 6 cupcakes we have left but he doesn't take his eyes off me.
"I'll take what you have if you'll go on a date with me" He flirts and I blush
"I suppose I can, just don't tell my boyfriend" I say, playing along
"Boyfriend eh? What's he like?" He asks, big cheeky smile crossing his face, I see Isabella watching us with deep interest, she loves romantic movies just as much as I do so this would be making her day
"He's 6 foot, blonde hair, fit with tattoos. He's also an amazing kisser and he's so hot" I tell him smiling.
"He's pretty lucky to have such a gorgeous girl" He says as I pack the cupcakes into a box for him and slide them over to him, he hands me cash and I process the sale through the register, "I'll drive you home Princess" He offers, dropping the act
"I'm almost done here, I'll meet you out front in a moment" I tell him before turning to Isabella, "This is Angus, my boyfriend", I watch her eyes go wide with delight as Angus reaches out a hand to shake.
"Nice to meet you boyfriend Angus, she has talked about you all day, it's nice to put a face to the name" Isabella say shaking his hand
"Nice to meet you too, sorry, I just enjoy flirting with my girl, she's just too cute when she blushes" He says, leaning over the counter to kiss me on the cheek. 
"Zoey go home, I'll finish up here, go enjoy your date with your lovely man and I'll see you next Saturday" Isabella says and I wave goodbye to her and leave with Angus.

"You said 6pm Angus, you're robbing me of getting ready time" I laugh as we walk into my house.
"You still have as long as you need to get ready, I'm actually here to see Don" He tells me and I look at him confused
"Why?" I ask
"I put an offer in on the house and it got accepted" He says, big smile on his face, "I was going to tell you over dinner with a bottle of champagne " He takes me into his arms and spins me around excited.
"What happens now?" I ask, realising I know nothing about the process of buying a house.
"Thats what I want to talk to Don about actually" He tells me and we go searching for my parents, we find them them out in the garden, watering the fruit trees that are starting to bloom. I leave Angus to discuss the house with my parents and I go shower and get ready for my date. I pick out a knee length, halter neck blue dress, straighten my hair but put a small kink in the ends so it has bounce and apply a small amount of make up. I spritz myself with perfume and dance around my room, I'm so excited, a date with Angus and a house, today is the best.

I walk back out to the garden, Angus and my parents are still in deep conversation but they stop talking when they see me walking up to them.
"Oh sweetie you look amazing" My mother praises me, "I love your hair like that"
"Thanks Mum" I say, kissing her cheek.
"Angus was telling us the good news, we are so proud" Don says hugging me.
"I'm proud of Angus, now he just needs to learn how to cook" I laugh
"Don promised he'll teach me the basics so I'm all ready by the time we move in" Angus says smiling.
"You're going to be living with both of our loud, noisey daughters, it's the least that I can do" Don laughs, poking me, he knows he will miss us when the house is quiet.
"Oh, before I forget, Immie asked me to ask you both to come for Christmas lunch, Tess too ofcouse. She puts on a big spread and it's usually just her and I" Angus extends an invite to Mum and Don.
"We would love to, we are family now." Mum says, "Ask your sister what we can bring too, we don't show up anywhere empty handed, not with a chef in the house"
"Will do" Angus tells them before turning to me, "Are you ready to go princess?" He asks me and I nod.

Angus took me to Club Calico, an elite lounge in Brindleton Bay. I've lived in Brindleton Bay since I was 10 and I've never step foot inside this lounge, it's always been known as the fancy place. The dinning area is massive, featuring a piano for entertainment and there is a pool outside next to the bar.  The hostess shows us to our table and we browse the menu.
"You know you're just going to order a cheeseburger Zoey, you look at the menu but always oder the cheeseburger" He laughs at me
"You know me so Well" I say smiling at him and he takes my hand
"I might even have one too" He tells me as the waitress walks over and he places our order, "We will also take your most expensive bottle of champagne" He tells her.
 She returns with a bottle and 2 glasses, filling them and then leaves us.
"Cheers baby" I say, raising my glass up and he clinks his against mine.
"I love you Zoey, my beautiful girl, I'm so excited that I get to live with you, to wake up next to you every day" He says as he squeezes my hand.
"I love you too beautiful boy" I swoon at him, I'm so happy, "Did you tell Tess yet?" I ask him
"No, I wanted you to know first, we will tell her tomorrow" He tells me. I get to live with my two favourite people, life couldn't get any better.

"Do you want to go to The Stargazer?" Angus asks as we are leaving, "Tess said the girls were going there tonight, we could keep the celebrations going, unless you're in a hurry for shenanigans?"
"We've got all night for shenanigans, lets make an appearance at The Stargazer" I reply. 
The Stargazer is pumping tonight, there's a new band playing Blink 182 covers and the dance floor is packed. We find Cassie, Steph and Annabelle have a table near the entrance.
"Zoey, I've missed you" Cassie shouts over the music
"Cass I saw you yesterday remember?" I laugh
"Oh yeah, I forgot, I drank 3 strong cocktails, Tess said I had to because she's now single and can get drunk again" She slurs her words.
"Where is Tess anyway?" I ask her and she points to the bar where Tess is talking to a tall, dark haired man, around the same as Angus, the guy turns around and I get a good look at his face.
"Code 15 hey?" Cass states, saying my thoughts out loud. Tess has been single less an a day and  is already chatting up some guy. 
"What are you two looking at so intently?" Angus asks, sneaking up behind us and I jump like a child who has been caught doing something naughty. The guy turns to face the bar and order them drinks
"Just Tess, she flirting with a guy at the bar" I explain, leaving out the part that Cassie and I were also checking the guy out too.
"Well that didn't take long" He laughs. 
"I should go over there and give the guy some warning" I joke as the guy turns around and hands Tess her drink.
"Are you fucking kidding me" Angus yells, his face going from happy to stormy in an instant, he turns around to Steph and yells, "Why is he here?"
"I invited him, I didn't know you were coming" She shouts back at him defensively. Cassie and I exchange looks, we're in the middle of the Steph and Angus drama and theres no escape. 
"This is my bar" Angus fires back at her
"Oh grow up Angus, you don't own the bar, he can go wherever he wants to" Steph informs him
"Gus, calm down, you're getting all worked up, it's not helping you" Annabelle attempts to deescalate the situation, she steps in between Angus and I and gives him a hug.
"We should get a drink, let them sort it out" Cassie says and we run off to the bar, I love Cassie, even when she's drunk she knows I hate confrontations and that I need to get away from it. 
We squeeze in next to Tess at the bar and I give her a hug and then order our drinks.
"What are you doing here?" She asks me excited
"Angus said you were here, suggested we come here" I tell her
"Angus McKenzie is here?" Mystery man asks me
"Ah yeah, he's over with Steph and Annabelle" I say, pointing, from a distance I can see that Angus and Steph are still arguing
"Oh shit, this is bad" The guy says to me
"Why? Who are you?" I question him
"I'm Brian, Angus and I went to school together" He introduces himself, "I'm guessing you're Zoey, Steph and Annabelle have told me all about you" 
"And Angus has told me all about you too" I say to him coldly and he hangs his head
"I bet he has" He says ashamed. I look over at Angus, he's staring at us, face full of anger.
"I have to go, I'll talk to you tomorrow" I tell Tess and I walk back to Angus, take his hand and lead him out of the bar.

"He can't take you from me" Angus says to me on the walk back to the apartment.
"Angus no one is taking me from you" I promise him
"He will try" Angus states and I put my hand on his arm to stop him walking, my confident boy has one insecurity, losing me and I need to show him that that's not going to happen.
"Angus listen to me, He is not going to take me from you, you're stuck with me forever baby" I say, pulling him in close to me.
"I'm sorry Zoey, I let him get under my skin" He apologises 
"I don't blame you Angus, he did bad by you and He knows it" I tell him, holding him tightly, I can feel his heart is still racing.
"What did he say to you Zoey?" Angus asks, looking worried.
"When he found out you were there he knew he shouldn't be, he was ashamed, he knows he hurt you" I inform him and he looks down at me, I can see the anger is fading.
"He was my best friend Zo, we were as close as you and Tess are, I even lived with his family for two years after my parents died. I trusted him with my life and then one night I come home from visiting Immie and I walk in on him fucking Steph, in my bed and I just walked out and left everything behind, my dog, my belongings, my clothes, everything" He explains, looking sad
"You forgave Steph, do you think you can ever forgive Brian?" I ask
"I didn't forgive Steph, I just moved passed it because I don't want to be with Steph, I can be her friend now because there's no romantic feelings there but it's different with Brian, I don't know if I could ever trust him again, as much as I want to because I miss that friendship" He confesses.
"What do you want to do? Do you want to go back in there? We can dance and have fun with our friends and you can ignore Brian or talk to him if you want to or do you want to go back to your place? We can have shenanigans and eat cupcakes and pick out furniture together. I will do whatever makes you happy" I offer suggestions. He leans down and kisses me, letting our soft tongues dance together, it's a soft, sweet kiss, my favourite type.
"Cupcakes and shenanigans Princess please. I'll apologise to Annabelle and Steph tomorrow, I'm not ready to socialise with Brian" He says and we walk back to the apartment.

Imogen has decorated the penthouse for Christmas and it looks like a winter wonderland. Theres a giant white tree sitting on a white plush rug, decorated with blue baubles and purple tinsel, a giant wreath on the front door, green tinsel wrapped around the banister, lights strung all over. She's even hung stockings over the fireplace, 4 of them with names on them and one has my name, I feel so special.
"You're family Zoey" Angus tells me, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist, he kisses my neck softly
"Is Imogen out tonight?" I ask him curiously
"Yep" He says as his hands lift my dress over my head and he throws it on the ground, "You look beautiful tonight Zoey Amelia Green" He tells me, unclasping my strapless bra.
"You smell so good Angus Theodore McKenzie" I tell him spinning around and taking off his shirt, he lets his hands explore my body, pinching my nipples, cupping my breasts with his warm hands, kissing my neck. I undo his pants and let them fall to the ground and he steps out of them.
"Take your panties off, turn around and get on your knees in front of the lounge baby" He orders me and I do as he tells me to, he removes his briefs and kneels down behind me and enters me slowly, wrapping one arm around my waist, the other is on my thigh and he holds me tightly as he eases himself in and out of me, going faster and faster with every thrust, it feels unbelievable.
"Oh fuck" I pant, gripping the lounge tightly as he pushes himself further inside me over and over. It's primal and raw, every move he make brings me closer to finishing.
"You feel so good baby" He tells me and it pushes me over the edge, I feel my orgasm come over me as I breathlessly call out his name but he doesn't let us slow down, he holds on tightly around my waist as he gets harder and faster, I can feel that familiar wave coming over me again as he stiffens and gives his final push, I feel him let go inside me.
"That's my good girl" He praises me, pulling out and grabbling tissues from the table next to the lounge to clean up. I sit back on my legs, catching my breath.

"Can we have a bath?" I ask him and he nods, scooping me up and carrying me down stairs to the bathroom, he sits me down on the edge of the bath and fills it with water, I climb in, letting the water wash over me, he runs off upstairs and returns to me with a red velvet cupcake. He climbs in behind me and I sit in between his legs and eat my cupcake as he kisses my neck.
"Thank you Zoey" He whispers in my ear.
"For what?"I ask confused
"For just being you and talking me out of my anger tonight, you always know what to say" He praises me and I smile to myself.
"You just need to talk things out baby, it helps to calm you. Tess is the same, she gets angry but if I talk her through it then she's good. You don't have to be friends with Brian, you don't owe him anything but you can't get angry at Steph for inviting him places because she's still friends with him, you need to find a way of dealing with him being there" I explain to him  and he holds me tightly.
"He never apologised to me, never even explained why he did it, I found out through Annabelle that it was going on for months" He says, burying his head in my neck
"Maybe you need to sit down with him, get some answers. Steph told me they broke up because he felt guilty about what happened" I tell him and he pulls his head up
"Steph talked to you about Brian? When?" He asks me surprised
"When we were in Sulani, we talked about you and her and her and Brian , she said that you two were like brothers and she came between you both" I tell him
"He liked her, before we started dating he told me he liked her and I was an asshole who went after the girl my best friend had a thing for because she made a move on me at a party" He says shamefully
"Angus you had a 4 year relationship with her, you're not an asshole, you liked her too" I state, breaking off a piece of my cupcake and putting it in his mouth, I place my cupcake on the edge of the bath and lean over to turn the tap off, I then spin around around so I can face him, straddling his lap and kissing him deeply.
"Look who's up for seconds" He says, smiling that cheeky smile at me
"Thirds actually, for me anyway" I correct him and he looks at me impressed as he guides himself inside me for the second time tonight.
"You're in control Zoey, fast or slow it's up to you" He tells me.
I took my time ridding him, I wanted to enjoy every move I made, to watch his face as I brought him closer to euphoria.
"I love you Angus" I tell him as I let go and feel myself pulsate around him, helping him complete his own journey.
"I love you so much Zoey, my gorgeous girl, I'm so lucky to have you" He gushes and I smile widely at him knowing that I'm lucky too, He is my future.

Out Of the Woods

Friday seemed to come around so fast but as I was packing my bags to leave I wasn't sad, I was so happy because I was going home with more than what I came with, I had Angus back but I felt bad for Tess, for what she was going to face once she got home. Tess is the strongest person I know, she speaks her mind in every situation and she doesn't take anyone else's crap but I know that she hates hurting people too and I also know that the thought of hurting Declan would be eating her up inside. 
I open a drawer I filled with skirts and shorts and I find my red mini skirt, the skirt I was wearing the night Charlie put his hand up my thigh and forced a kiss upon me. I decided that if I was going home with the boy I wanted then I could leave behind something that reminded me of the boy I regret ever talking to. It was a fair trade off.
I take my bag down to the kitchen and place it with the pile of others. Tess is in the kitchen, cleaning the bench, she cleans whenever she's nervous about something.
"Which car do you want to go in?" I ask her, she can go with Angus, Steph, Annabelle and I and get home straight away or go with Declan, Cassie and Sam and have a delayed trip because they live in different suburbs and she would be stuck alone with Declan for the last part of the drive.
"I'll go in the van with Declan, I can't leave Cassie alone to be bored by the sports talk, she would never forgive me" She says as she wipes over the same spot four times. Angus walks in from outside and grabs my bag, he looks at Tess in the kitchen cleaning and comes over.
"We have cleaners who come in do that Gerttie" He tells her but she doesn't stop, she sprays the bench again and wipes it over,  her head hung low to hide her tears.
"She's nervous" I whisper to Angus, after our dinner I told him about how she was going to break up with Declan.
"Tess if you're free this weekend I was thinking of having the back wall of the gym painted with one of your awesome murals, something that motivates people" Angus suggests and she looks up at him with a big smile. This is his way of taking her mind off the nerves.
"I'd love to, I have so many ideas of what to design, I'll draw some up when we get home and you get the paints" She says, excited by the new project.
"I really appreciate it little sis, you're a big help and I'll pay you for your work too" Angus says, pulling her in for a hug. This is the distraction Tess needed and I'm so grateful to Angus for helping her.

Angus handed me his keys when we were on the ferry back to the mainland.
"You're driving us back Princess" He says with a big smile on his face.
"I don't know the way though" I panic, this would be the furtherest I've driven and I'm not good with roads I don't know or heavy traffic.
"I know the way baby, you'll be alright and the traffic is light on a Friday morning. The more you practice the better you will get and before you know it you will be doing this drive all the time" He assures me, boosting my confidence up, "Just take your time baby".
The traffic is really light on the drive back so I don't feel as much pressure and it also helps that I am able to follow Declan's van back to the suburbs.
"Angus doesn't let just anyone drive his car" Steph says as we come onto the freeway, she knows this is a big deal for us both.
"Well I know Zoey isn't going to run my baby into the curb" Angus says laughing
"That happened one time Angus, let it go" Steph replies defensively and we all laugh.
Declan pulls off into Newcrest and I follow the road to Brindleton Bay, the drive home was smooth and easy, we made it back in just 2 hours.
I drop Annabelle and Steph at Steph's place and then on to my own house. 
"We're ok, right Zoey?" Angus asks in a small voice as we sit in the car out the front of my house, "I know I've got a lot of making up to do to fix what I broke" He looks at me with a worried expression on his face.
"Angus we're good, even better than good, we are great." I confirm to him, "Where is this coming from anyway?" I question
"Just with Tess and Declan splitting up, it made me worry about you and me" He frets
"We are nothing like Tess and Declan, you know that" I tell him, touching him on the leg
"Don't ever let us be either, if something bothers you I need you to speak up and tell me, please don't ever let it get to the point that it did in Del Sol Valley" He begs me, I can see that it still weighs heavy on him.
"The only problem that I had was you keeping Steph's calls secret and now we've sorted that, we're good, we're strong" I promise him and he smiles warmly at me
"Are we training today?" He asks, changing the subject
"Can we skip it? I doubt Tess will be in the mood to go and I just wanna stay home" I say
"We can skip it, just this once" He replies.
We go inside and I throw myself down on my comfy bed, I've missed sleeping in my own bed.
 I can hear footsteps coming from upstairs in the kitchen, most likely my mother.
"We should go up there and be sociable" Angus suggests and I lead the way up the stairs. My Mother is busy putting away the groceries, she sees us and drops what she's doing to come give us hugs.
"My baby is back, I've missed you" She says kissing me on my cheeks, "And she brought Angus with her" Now its his turn for a kiss on the cheek
"Hey Ruth, let me get those for you" Angus says as he starts packing away the groceries
"You're a good boy Angus" She praises him before turning her attention back to me, "Where's Tess? Please don't tell me you two are still fighting" She scolded me
"We made up on the first day there, you know we can't stay mad at each other for long." I tell her, "She's with Declan, Angus brought me home", Mum smiles brightly at Angus.
"You take such good care of my baby" She says, throwing her arms around him
"She's my Princess Ruth, I've gotta treat her right" He tells her and I watch Mum's eyes go wide.
"Does this mean?" She asks us both and we nod, "I knew you two would sort things out" She says, kissing me on the head, everyone seemed to believe it except me.
"Can Angus stay for dinner?" I ask Mum
"Of course sweetie but Don won't be home til late tonight, I know he's dying to talk to about that house you are going to look at" Mum says to Angus
"What house?" I question Angus and he smiles at me.
"I was going to look at house this afternoon, it's not far from here actually, I sent the details to Don last night and I was going to ask if you wanted to come have a look with me but I got sidetracked by all the Tess and Declan drama" He explains
"Theres drama with Tess and Declan" My mother asks surprised
"She's breaking up with him" I inform her
"Oh, I did see that coming actually, he's a lovely boy but she's just out grown him" Mum says, "Anyway tell me about your holiday, did you have a good time?"
"I had the best time, I want to go back there and play on the beach and swim with dolphins, I loved it" I tell her as I dance around the kitchen, I think Sulani is my new favourite place.

That afternoon Angus drove us to look at the house he is thinking of buying, we met the real estate agent out the front. The house is a modern style, two story with basement, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, pool out back with a decent sized backyard. The bedrooms are spacious with an ensuite in the main bedroom. The house looks to be freshly painted and has hardwood flooring throughout. Theres even a fireplace in the living room.
"What do you think Zo?" Angus asks me after we've viewed every room
"I think it looks amazing but are you sure you're ready to leave the city for the suburbs? It's a big change and you can't just walk to work from here" I point out
"I'm going to step back from the gym next year, let Immie and Justin run things while I'm studying and this is close to your family, there's even room for Tess to come live here like you wanted, as long as she knows to not walk in while we are showering" He says and I kind of like the idea of staying in Brindleton Bay.
"I'd love to live with you here" I tell him and he kisses me on the forehead
"I'll put an offer in then, if they accept it we could be moving in by Christmas" He says smiling brightly at me. I can't believe that in six weeks time I could be living with him and celebrating Christmas in a new home. 
"We haven't got any furniture, we are going to need so much if we are going to live here" I start to stress thinking about all the things we have to get organised before moving in but, as usual, Angus is not stressed about anything, he just takes me into his arms and says
"We will go shopping on Sunday, it will all be sorted and You and Tess can be in charge of decorating however you want" Full creative control over a new project, Tess will love this.

When we arrive back at my house Tess is sitting in the backyard, sketch pad in hand, drawing away, she jumps up excited when she sees us coming.
"I think I have the perfect design for the wall" She tells Angus holding up her sketch pad. I love seeing Tess' art work, how she's able to tell a story with a simple design. Her concept for the wall is marathon being run, shown from the angle of the finish line as the person in first place is just about to cross it.
"I love it Tess" Angus praises her, "I'll pick you up in the morning and we'll get paints"
"You can stay over" I tell him.
"I would love to baby but I really should put in some sibling time with Immie after being away for a week and I have schedules to do for next week" He says and I'm disappointed but I do understand, "Can I take you on a date tomorrow night?" He asks me and I instantly perk up
"Yes you can, I have work until 3 though" I tell him
"I'll pick you up at 6, take you somewhere fancy" He promises and I feel so special.
"Ah cute, dinner dates, I'm going to miss those" Tess says, interrupting our moment.
"Did you talk to Declan?" I ask her, I know when Tess sets her mind on something that nothing stops her from following through
"Yeah I did, I told him that it just wasn't working anymore, that we'd grown apart. I think he thinks I'll be over it tomorrow and everything will stay the same" She complains, "Why can't my break up be as easy as yours was?" She laughs, I look at Angus, both of knowing it was anything but easy.
"When Zoey broke up with me it ripped my heart out Teresa" Angus states and I can see the pain in his eyes, like he's reliving that moment all over again, stupid tackless Tess, she never thinks before she speaks.
"I know it hurt you, both of you, I was the only person who saw what you were both going through, I just meant that when she told you it was over you listened, you didn't treat it as a joke and think she's just PMSing, which is exactly what Declan accused me of. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you Angus, or you either Zo, I'm just angry that he even takes me breaking up with him as a joke" Tess explains and I see Angus soften. 
"He'll get the picture when you're not chasing after him anymore" Angus tells Tess, speaking from his own experience I suspect, I lean over and kiss him on the cheek, I'm so grateful our dark days are behind us

Never Grow Up

"I have sand in places that I didn't even know I had places" I laugh with Angus in the shower.
"You loved it baby" He says as he squirts cucumber scented body wash onto a loofa and massages it into my skin, Im covered in bubbly suds and sand.
"It was pretty romantic" I tell him, flashbacks of the night before playing back in my mind, his soft touches on skin, how he took his time and it was slow and tender under the moonlight. 
"I liked it too, another first for us both" He informs me and I'm surprised
"You've never done it outside before?" I ask him
"Nope, I was an outdoor virgin until last night" He laughs. 
I grab the loofa from him, squirt the body wash onto it and start running it over his skin, I love exploring his naked body with my hands, the grooves of his torso, the muscles in his thighs, the way he flexes when he raises his arms and places them on his head, allowing me to wash his sides, he smiles that cheeky smile at me because he knows I'm purposely taking my time, checking him out.
"Do you remember the first time we showered together?" I ask him, thinking back to how shy I was.
"Yeah, I was so nervous to touch you Zoey, I was afraid I'd scare you off" He says, smiling at me, "You were just so precious, you still are but now I've touched you all over" 
"And you will be the only one who ever touches me like that, just you Angus" I promise him and he pulls me in for a hug. 
The bathroom door swings open and Tess comes charging in.
"I have been looking for you everywhere, Cass and I were at the tourist beach just now and we saw the hottest code 15" She announces to me, not even flinching when she sees I'm in the shower with Angus, "Hey Angus, oh, the tattoo is a fish? Awesome" She greets him before leaving as quickly as she came in.
"Does she often walk in on you while you're showering?" He asks me, completely floored by what just happened
"Yes, I'm used to it, I just didn't think she would while you're in here, I'm so sorry, I should of locked the door" I apologise and he bursts out laughing.
"She really has no filter" He laughs, "What's a code 15 anyway?"
"When we were in year 7 we would check out the year 12 boys, I'm guessing because we saw them as being the hottest males we'd been exposed to at that point, it's silly and childish really but we came up with this code, if you can stare at him for 15 seconds then he is unbelievably hot, we just kept it going throughout school, it was our secret code" I explain, embarrassed about how stupid it sounds out loud and I feel like a silly school girl
"I was in year 12 when you were in year 7" He smiles at me knowing he was most likely one of the boys we were checking out.

Angus organised for us all to go snorkelling in the ocean near the house. We take a boat out to the middle of the ocean and jump into the warm water, put on our masks and snorkels and explore. I see schools of beautifully coloured fish, a pod of dolphins and even a family of turtles. Tess swims up next to me and points, we see jelly fish bobbing along and three seahorses. I come back up to the surface and put my mask and snorkel back in the boat and swim around with Cassie
"Did you see the turtles?" I ask her excited
"Oh yeah and those dolphins, they were awesome" She  squeals.
One by one the others come up to the surface with stories of the sea life they found under the water.
"I saw a mermaid" Tess tells us and we all laugh
"Pretty sure that was just a giant fish" Declan says and she splashes water at him and swims away.
Angus swims up next to me and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me in close for a kiss.
"Did you have fun Princess?"He asks me 
"I love being out here, the ocean is unbelievable , we have nothing like this in Brindleton Bay. Thank you baby" I tell him
"You're welcome" He replies, "We should head back in though, I saw a shark swimming around and I want to get lunch, not be lunch" He laughs. I've never moved so fast in my life.

We all walked to The Sandbar for lunch and early afternoon drinks.
"Cocktails ladies?" Steph suggests and we all cheer in agreement. The Sandbar's cocktail of the day is the Blue Lagoon and the mixologist is making them strong, I drink half of mine and feel tipsy.
"Come dance" Cassie says, taking my hand and we head out onto the small, empty dance floor and sway to the music from the juke box.
"Tess walked in on Angus and I in the shower this morning" I tell Cassie and she looks at me shocked
"What did Angus say? Was he mad?" She asks
"No, he laughed, he also questioned me about what a code 15 was too" I reply
"I was surprised when she pointed him out on the beach, she hasn't said it since before Declan" Cassie notes
"I think she and Declan may be over, she says she's matured past him" I inform her.
"I've seen this coming for a while now, she took the lead role as school captain and had to carry him the whole year and it was a lot of stress for her, he just kept taking the credit for her hard work" Cassie says and I feel bad that I didn't notice this was going on.
"She didn't tell me any of this" I tell Cassie, shocked
"You were in a bad place Zo, she didn't want to lean on you, she said you had enough going on without taking on her relationship dramas too" Cassie explains. Tess has always leaned on me when times got hard, it's what we do with each other and I feel terrible that she felt she couldn't. We go back to table to finish our drinks and lunch, the boys are in deep conversation talking about how The Llama's were cheated out of winning their grand final this year.
"They were in the final?" I ask Angus
"Ah yeah baby, what rock were you living under back in September?" He laughs
"The one where sports are boring and unimportant" I tell him, poking him in the ribs.
"I had a lot of time on my hands for boring, unimportant things back then" He says, poking me back, "I could take you out for dinner tonight and give you a play by play" He suggests
"As thrilling as that sounds I think I need alone time with Tess tonight, she's kinda going through something with Declan" I tell him and he smiles at me
"I'll book you two a table, can you also talk to her about privacy too" He laughs

"why didn't you tell me exactly how bad things were with Declan?' I ask Tess over dinner, taking her hand in mine
"I didn't want to put more on your plate Zoey, you were dealing with your own boy problems, I didn't want to add mine and weigh you down" She says sadly
"Teresa you can always come to me about anything, no matter what. I hate that you felt that you couldn't" I tell her and her eyes start to well up
"Zoey I just can't do it anymore, he's just not going to change and grow up and I can't keep carrying him. I worked my ass off this year as school captain and he got all the glory from Landgaarb because they would talk about sports in every meeting and shovel me with the work load." She breakdown crying
"Oh Tess, I wish you had told me" I say, squeezing her hand
"I'm going to break up with him, I know it will be hard and I'll wait until we get back home to do it so I don't ruin the holiday for him or anyone else" She confesses
"Just be aware that he is still friends with our group so you may still have to see him and that may be awkward but Cass and I will always be there" I promise her and she smiles 
"I know, I'm lucky to have you Zo" She praises me
"I'm lucky to have you too Tess" I smile brightly at her, "I just have to ask you to not come into the bathroom ever again when I'm in there with Angus" 
"In my defence I didn't realise he was in there with you and I promise I didn't see anything" She laughs
"You saw enough" I shout, throwing my napkin at her and we both burst out laughing

How You Get the Girl

 Most people start their Monday mornings with cursing the alarm clock, wishing the weekend didn't just fly by, they may have a light breakfast, a strong coffee or a cold shower to wake up. Angus starts his Mondays with push-ups and crunches, by choice, as I lay sprawled naked across the bed watching him, wishing for that strong coffee, this boy wakes up energised. 
He finishes his last set of crunches, light sweat beaming off his bare chest and he slides over to the side of the bed and kisses me deeply, passionately.
"I loved my surprise baby" He tells me, cheeky smile spreading across his face.
"I have 3 others too, if you're a good boy I'll let you see me in them" I tease him and he reaches up and spanks me on my behind.
"Im always a good boy Princess" He professes and I laugh
"You're cheeky baby" I tell him as I lean in for another kiss. 
"You looked hot Zoey" He tells me and I'm floored, I've never been the hot girl before, always the cute girl, but he likes cute.
"You look hot everyday Angus" I inform him and he blushes, first time I've ever seen Angus get shy.
"Only you think that Zo" He says with a little chuckle
"Ah no, I'm not, Claudia spends most of her working day checking you out, I use to watch her watching you" I laugh
"Claudia now runs Pectoral Fitness. You remember that gym in Del Sol Valley that I bought?" He informs me and I smile
"So now she can check out someone else's boyfriend." I say satisfied
"Baby, like she had a chance, I only want you, even when we were apart, it was always you" He promises me.
"You said you were looking though when I asked if you were moving on" I say sadly, thinking back to the formal.
"I was playing it cool Zoey, I couldn't just come out and tell you that I checked your Simstagram regularly for updates, I even got suspicious of Sam at one point because you were in group photos with him and I'd never met the kid, that wasn't a good day for me" He replies, matching my sadness
"Stalker"I laugh, poking him in the ribs, he scoops me up in his arms and pulls me down to where he is on the floor.
"Zoey you hate being tickled right?" He asks me knowing I detest it as his fingers move lightly under my arms, making me squirm
"Angus stop" I plead with him while laughing
"Am I a stalker?" He laughs, tickling my ribs
"No, you're my boyfriend and if you love me you will stop" I plead with him again and this time it works, he holds his hands up to show he won't tickle me anymore, I kiss his neck as a thank you and he wraps his arms around me, he feels hot and sweaty.
"Come shower with me Princess, I'll be a good boy" He promises me
"But I love it more when you're bad" I laugh
"We can't have sex in the shower Zoey" Angus tells me in a serious tone, "Not until you get back on the pill" He says kissing me, I reach up and grab my phone from the bedside table and look up doctors on the island with appointments available that morning, find one not far from us and book the appointment, he sits there watching me intently.
"Will you come with me?" I ask him
"Of course baby, I would never make you go alone" He says, kissing me softly

The island doctor is not at all like the city doctor, there's no questions asked about getting tested or if we are using other protection, this doctor just writes the prescription and sends me on my way and I have it filled at the pharmacy. 
"That was easy" I exclaim, "Now what shall we do" I ask, knowing he knows the island so well
"I have something I want us to do together, it's something I like to do whenever I come out here and it's not going to be exciting or glamorous but it will be rewarding." He says and I'm curious to what it is. 
We catch a small boat to one of the popular tourist beaches on the island, at first glance the beach looks like paradise with golden sand and crystal clear water but as our small boat docks I see that the beach is covered in garbage, left behind by the tourists. We walk up to the lifesavers hut where Angus introduces me to Richard, one of the lifeguards on duty.
"Here to do the dirty work again Angus?" Richard asks as he hands Angus keys to the locked shed at the side of the hut.
"I hate the way they just leave this place, no respect" Angus says as he unlocks the small shed and hands me gloves and a garbage bag then grabs supplies for himself, he locks the shed and hands the keys back to Richard and we make our way along the beach, filling our bags with garbage.
"How often do you do this?" I ask Angus
"Whenever I come to the island I like to spend a day or two cleaning up, it's like giving back to the spirits who watch over Sulani" He explains
"You never mentioned it before" I say, surprised that it has never come up before today
"It's no big deal Zo" He replies as he grabs a beer can sticking out of the sand
"It is a big deal Angus, it's selfless" I applaud him and he just gives me a small smile.
"Well now you're selfless too baby" He says, "Thank you for helping out, I'm sorry it's not as exciting as our other adventures"
"I'm happy to help and I'd be happy to help again whenever you come out" I offer
"You're a good person Zo" He says, kissing me on the cheek.

That afternoon we pack our bags to leave the hotel and drive back to the holiday home.
"We didn't have a spa" I comment as we check out, Angus looks at me and smiles
"Well we will just have to come back and try it out won't we Princess?" He offers and I'm excited. 
Angus drives the scenic route back to the house, along the coastline, I see families playing in the sand and surfers riding waves, giant palm trees and even a pod of dolphins swimming far out in the ocean.
"I really do love it here" I remark as he pulls up at the house
"I should of taken you here instead of Del Sol Valley, maybe we wouldn't of broken up" He jokes
"Yeah, because the location was the issue"I laugh and he goes quiet, I place my hand on his leg to let him know that we are good, we're past it now.
"Wait here" He says, he gets out of the car and comes around to open my door, I get out and he pulls me in close to him, his cologne smells amazing.
"I had a fantastic holiday with you Angus, when we went to Del Sol Valley, I never thanked you for taking me but I loved it" I tell him and he smiles brightly.
"I'll take you back there one day, we will finish it with better memories" He promises, taking my hand and we walk into the house.
Tess is in the kitchen with Declan and you can cut the tension between them with a knife, she's snapping at every move he makes to help her prepare dinner, I've seen them have fights before but seems to be becoming more annoyed by Declan more often.
"Hey guys, do you need help?" I offer 
"No thanks, I've got this"Tess shouts  as she takes the chopping board away from Declan
"Are you sure because it's a lot of work, cooking for 8 people Tess" Angus pushes
"Yeah, I'm all good, if Declan would just move out of my way then I'd be able to get it all ready" She says, pushing him aside
"I'm trying to help" Declan protests
"You're not helping, you're creating more work" She snaps back at him, I can see that she's going to erupt any moment now and it's probably best to get Declan out of the firing line before she blows.
"Can you take Declan down to the beach, I'll talk to Tess" I whisper to Angus and he nods. The boys leave the room and I cautiously approach my sister.
"What's going on" I ask her
"Declan is just pissing me off and not just today, he's just so immature and makes stupid jokes , like what he said to you yesterday morning about your hand and on Friday how he made that comment about Imogen" She scoffs 
"Do you think you just need some time apart? Like you've been around each other since Thursday night, maybe you just need a night off from him?" I suggest
"We've been together since year 9 Zoey, I grew up and he didn't and I see it now, I see how Angus is with you, how he doesn't make crude jokes or talk about how hot his friend's sister is. Even Sam, who is our age seems more mature than Declan. I'm just sick of his stupid humour" She cries
"Well what are you going to do?" I ask her, Tess and Declan have had fights in the past but never broken up officially, they usually make up by the next day but this feels different with the way she's talking
"I'm going to see how we are by the end of the holiday and if I'm still feeling like this then I'm going to end it." She says sadly
"I'm here for you Teresa, whatever you do" I tell her, wrapping my arms around her.
"I know Zoey" She says and I can hear the quiver in her tone. I pick up a knife and start chopping carrots and Tess adds the potatoes to the roasting pan with the turkey, together we finishing chopping the rest of the vegetables and place them in the steamer. Tess and I have always worked well together in the kitchen, I see her dark mood is lifting when she puts the radio on and starts dancing and it's hard not to get caught up in all the fun. By the time Angus and Declan have returned from the beach Tess and I are in high spirits, the bad tension is completely gone. Cassie, Sam, Annabelle and Steph arrive home, they've spent the day cruising around the island and are now looking beautifully sun kissed.
"How was last night hun?" Steph whispers to me while everyone else is busy chatting about their day.
"Really good, he liked his surprise" I tell her smiling shyly
"I'm glad he liked it and I'm sure you looked hot too" She praises me and I hug her, I love talking with Steph, it's like having a big sister who always has the best advice. I pull her outside, away from the group, away from Angus. I have questions I need to ask.
"When you and Angus were together did he make plans, for your future?" I question her and she laughs to herself
"The only plan Angus made while he was with me was how drunk he could get and Brian and I would struggle to get his ass home. He got drunk and ruined my 18th and then his 18th, our anniversary, then it became a Friday night regular thing" She tells me and I realise it's the first time she's brought up Brian.
"Is that why You and Brian ended up together?" I ask her tentatively, I know it's none of my business but I have wondered.
"Brian and Angus were like brothers, they grew up together and Brian's family took Angus in for a while after his parents died because Imogen wasn't in the right head space to be raising a teenage boy, it took Angus and Imogen a while to find their way, She had to go from being his older sister to his parent while still holding up her career. Brian and Angus did everything together until I came between them, Brian liked me and I liked Angus and Brian pulled away from Angus when we started seeing each other" She explains
"And thats why Angus started drinking?" I ask her and she nods
"He was filling a void left by Brian and still hadn't dealt with his parents deaths, he was pretty messed up I didn't know how to handle it so I'd yell at him a lot, I was very nasty to Angus because I felt neglected by him and the more angry I got the more he would drink to escape and I started leaning on Brian, calling him to come help, hoping he could pull Angus out of the dark place but Brian was everything I was missing, he was sweet and affectionate. I'm not proud of what I did but I fell in love with Brian, it wasn't just sex, we had a relationship" She informs me, I feel so bad for bringing this all back up to the surface for her but I have to know.
"Why did you and Brian break up?" I ask her
"Guilt tore us apart, he lost a brother in Angus and we both lost our friend. Angus deserved better, I deserved better, we should of ended it in high school and maybe Angus and Brian would still be friends" She says sadly 
"Do you think Angus and Brian could ever be friends again? It would break my heart if I couldn't talk to Tess or Cassie ever again, surely enough water has passed under the bridge" I wonder
"I doubt it, Angus and I are friends now because he has nothing to lose by letting me back in but with Brian it's different, Brian took something from Angus and Angus wouldn't risk that happening again, not with you Zoey" She tells me, I put my arms around her to let her know that I don't pass any judgement.
"There you two are" Angus says, stepping out onto the porch with us, "I've been looking for you, dinner is ready ladies" 
We go back inside and take out seats at the table and I'm grateful to Steph for being open and honest with me, my relationship with Angus is completely different to the one she had with him because he's different, he learnt from his mistakes.

Later that night, while we are lying together in bed I snuggle into Angus and he kisses me softly.
"You're a good boyfriend Angus McKenzie and a good person too" I tell him and he looks me and smiles
"Where's this coming from Zo?" He questions me
"I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you and that I love you. I like that you include me in your future plans because I see you in mine too" I say, kissing him deeply and running my fingers through his hair.
"I do have big plans for us baby" He teases as he moves his lips down to my neck and slides his hand up my thigh
"You're trying to distract me so I don't ask any questions about these plans, I'm on to you Angus" I laugh
"We should move this outside, down on the beach, under the stars" He suggests, ignoring me
"In public? Where everyone can see us?" I fret, I know I've come a long way with my social anxiety but the thought of strangers watching us isn't exactly a turn on
"It's a private beach Zoey, there's only two houses that have access and no one is staying in the other house right now, I checked it out before we came up here. Everyone's in bed, no-one will hear us" He whispers to me, "Plus I find it hard to get intimate with your sister down the hall" He confesses, winning me over. 
We made love under the stars with the sound of the waves crashing and the smell of the salty sea air as he explored my my body, my captain had seduced me by the sea.

Afterglow

"How's your hand feeling baby" Angus asks over breakfast, taking my hand and giving it a kiss. All eight of us gathered around the dinning table to eat the breakfast that Tess and Declan had prepared.
"Sore but I think the ice pack helped" I tell him, "It was so worth it though"
"Sore hand in the morning and a happy Angus can only mean one thing" Declan jokes, Tess gives him a dirty look and the others erupt in laughter, it takes me a while to understand that Declan is making a sex joke and I giggle
"Declan that's not funny, thats my sister" Tess goes off at him
"Lighten up Tess, it was funny" I laugh at her and she softens.
"What are we up to today?" Tess asks everyone
"Steph and I are doing a shopping trip to Magnolia Promenade, it's on the mainland, I was thinking we should make it a girls day if you girls want to join us?" I propose and the girls all cheer in agreement.
"Declan can we borrow your van? We won't all fit in the Angus' car and theres more room to put our bags" Tess asks Declan
"Of course you can baby" He says, kissing her on the cheek, I love how cute these two are.

"Take my credit card baby" Angus offers me as we are leaving, pulling it out of his wallet
"I don't need it, I have my savings from working at the bakery, plus this is my surprise for you, doesn't seem right if you pay for it" I inform him, he kisses me goodbye and we leave on our girls day out, Steph driving Declan's van with Annabelle up front with her and Tess, Cassie I in the back. We drive onto the ferry, parking underneath in the car section and find a seat up on deck, the ferry is almost empty of passengers this morning, except for one lone guy sitting on a bench seat, sporting a shiny, new black eye, he looks upper and sees me with my group of friends and comes marching over.
"You're a fucking prick tease bitch" He screams at me.
"Hi, Im Tess, speak to my sister like that again and I'll give you a matching black eye on the other side" Tess threatens him.
"Whatever, I didn't need you anyway, I was balls deep in a busty blonde before midnight" He boasts
"Translation ladies, he watched porn and touched his own dick" Steph clarifies for us and we burst out laughing.
"Where's your personal trainer today? Not here to protect you?" He says smugly 
"Charlie, it was me that punched you in the face, not Angus, he just shoved you up against a wall" I remind him, "Oh, and to answer your question about where he is, he's most likely out buying condoms because unlike you, he got the girl. That must be humiliating for you, you put in all this effort to try and get me to go home with you and the guy who didn't have to talk himself up woke up with me in his bed this morning" I laugh at him
"Congratulations, you got your number two and how did Mr Beefcake compare to Mr Perfect" He asks with that smug smile on his face
"Oh no, I'm still at one, Angus has always been one and that boy has mad skills" I inform him, "Go away charlie, you're nothing but a fuckboy" I order him and he slinks away.
"So what are we shopping for?" Cassie asks to remove the bad  energy that was Charlie
"Lingerie, I need something sexier than my Hello Kitty underwear, I need to look hot" I tell the girls shyly and they all squeal with excitement.
"Oh this is awesome because I need something to spice things up with Declan after 4 years together" Tess tells us and I'm surprised, we've never talked about things like this.
"I could use a set of new handcuffs, Sam and I had to break the last ones because we lost the key somewhere" Cassie tells us and we all stop and look at her in surprise, "We're experimenting" 
"Why did we not talk like this before" I ask them
"Because you were in high school and having sex with your first boyfriends and scared that your friends would judge you" Annabelle says smiling at us and taking Steph's hand, "Welcome to the grown up world ladies, this is what women talk about with each other but you can never bring it up with in conversation around the men, it's our secrets."
I'm excited to step into this new world with my best friends.

Steph drives us to Magnolia Promenade, a long street of exclusively branded stores that include  a giant lingerie store with everything that ranges from tame night dresses all the way up to early there string pieces that leave nothing to the imagination. 
"You'll need more than one ladies" Steph tells us as we browse the racks, "And don't get anything that will be too hard to get out of, nothing spoils the mood faster than struggling to get out of an outfit" She laughs
I purchase four different styles, one of which I plan to save until Christmas and find Tess looking at vibrators
"I'm thinking of getting one" She says shyly
"Angus bought me that silver one, I like it" I tell her and she smiles at me
"So it's good?" She asks
"Oh yeah" I exclaim, putting my arm around her shoulder and we laugh together, Cassie comes running up to us with seven outfits and two different types of handcuffs.
"I got fluffy and regular" She squeals at us.

We stop for lunch and then head back to the island. The boys are out of the house when we arrive home which makes it easier to sneak our goodies in unnoticed but they come home not long after us. Angus comes into our room just as I'm hiding the last bag.
"How was shopping Princess?" Angus asks, before wrapping me up in his arms.
"Really good, I love Steph and Annabelle, it's great having friends who are teaching us that it's ok to talk about our men" I tell him
"You talked about me baby" He questions with a big smile on his face.
"Maybe, all good things though" I promise him.
"I don't need to know, girls talk and I love that you have a group of women to confide in" He says kissing me, "Oh, by the way, I booked a table for eight people tonight at a restaurant"
"Eight people, like a group date?" I ask, I love this idea
"Yeah, I thought it was kind of rude if I took you away from your friends considering this is your end of school holiday but I did also book a hotel room just for us, I hope that's ok" He explains, I love how thoughtful he is.
"Did you get the protection?" I enquire and he pulls a box from his pocket and throws it on the bed, smiling at me.
"First thing I did this morning, I also bought myself some clothes and necessities and I called Imogen and told her I won't be back til Friday because I'm spending some time with my Girlfriend and my friends" He informs me
"How did she take the news that we are back together?" I enquire
"I have a ringing noise in my right ear because she squealed so loudly down the phone, she loved you long before she met you so she's very happy for us, she also said to tell you that 'He is very dreamy but he's not the sun, you are', I have no idea what that means but she said you would get it" He laughs
"She quoted Cristina Yang from Grey's Anatomy to you for me, I get it" I laugh, Imogen and I share the same love of Grey's.
"So when do I get my surprise" He asks like a little kid waiting for Santa
"Tonight, when we're alone" I promise him
"You know I just want to run my tongue up your thigh right now and not stop when I reach the top of your legs, I've been thinking about it all day" He teases
"Well you will have to be patient and wait" I say, fighting temptation to just cave in now and let him to as he pleases to me but waiting until we're alone will make it all the more special.

Angus booked us into a restaurant to sample some of the local cuisine the island has to offer, it's the first time most of us has tried Kava, a local drink. We make toasts together, everyone laughing and eating.
"I want to stay here forever" I announce to Angus when we finish our dinner and he looks at me with adoring eyes.
"We could baby, not any time soon but once we get our degrees we could move out here and live in the house, have a few kids and live the island life" He says in a dreamy tone, like he's making future plans for us.
"Oh now you want children?" I question him, surprised
"I always wanted children, just far in the future but I want to have them with you" He whispers to me
"We could make one tonight" I stir him and he looks at me with fear on his face 
"Zoey Amelia Green don't even joke about that" He panics, I smile and kiss his cheek
"Let's go to the hotel, I can't wait any longer to give you your surprise" I suggest, we say our goodbyes to the rest of the group and Angus drives us to one of the most luxurious hotels on the island.

Angus booked us into the penthouse, no surprises there but it's so different than the one in Del Sol Valley, here we have a zen garden on the balcony and the spa is among the island greenery landscape. The smell of hibiscus flowers fills the air but isn't overpowering, the bed has a bamboo frame and sits on a hardwood floor, the dinning table is smaller, seating for four and theres a full sized fridge stocked with alcohol and snacks. The hotel has it's own private beach as well as a pool, sauna and gym.
"We don't have to leave until tomorrow afternoon baby so there's no rush, we can take our time" He tells me, the cheeky smile spreading across his face, "Do you want some champagne, I don't think there's any in the fridge but I can call to room service and get some and dessert too" He offers, I sense that he's nervous, it's been 4 months since we were last intimate, 4 months since we had that fight that tore us apart.

He knows me so well, "Wasn't there talk of a surprise for me tonight Zoey?" He asks with the cheeky smile.
"Do you want me to show it to you now? You've been very patient" I say, attempting to seduce him.
"Now I'm curious more so, it's something you show me?" He asks, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed, "I'm ready to be shown"
"Take your pants off Angus, shirt too" I demand, he does as he's asked, sitting back down in his his briefs.
